Every once in a while someone will ask how we came up with the name "Evergreen Engraving". While it's true that I just pulled it out of my back pocket, there's a little more to the story that don't usually share . . .
Kari and I both live in a neighborhood called Evergreen, and were both raised for the most part in Colorado, surrounded by evergreen trees. And, of course, we want our tills to be evergreen. And while this seemed like a good enough name, we thought maybe something more cutesy and symbolic would be better.
My sister and I have similar tastes when it comes to TV, books and movies, and we are often cracking ourselves up with ridiculous quotes that hit our funny bones just right. One of our all time favorites is Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Camera Diaz. In the movie, June (Diaz) talks about doing things "Someday" and shares with Roy (Cruise) that Someday she wants to go to the farthest place she can go - Cape Horn.
Well, for several years Kari and I have been looking for a business we could do together and this was the closest we had come to a legitimate shot. So we were knocking around the possibilities of calling it "Someday Engraving" or "Cape Horn Engraving".
So . . . one day I asked my husband - "What do you think of 'Cape Horn Engraving' for a name for the new business?"
His response was "Gay Porn Engraving - why would you name it that????"
Alrighty then. Evergreen Engraving it is. LMAO.
